While Google has been running containers for approaching a decade, it wasn’t until dotCloud released docker that the rest of the industry really started to pay attention. With the explosive adoption of containers, its only a matter of time until they are proposed at your organisation.

In this presentation we will walk through what containers bring to the table over a typical virtual-machine based deployment, the Linux kernel features that container runtimes leverage, building our first container, and finally the security benefits, and pitfalls, of our containerising world.
